Notes

We made this trip from 5 till 12 November 2012.

My purpose was to find the most significant objects about Napoleon along the most logical route in Poland.

We met some problems: in November you are out of season, so the most of the musea were closed for restauration or for winter. In six musea I could not see the special Napoleon objects. A special case I met in Kórnik. The castle was in restauration, but I was recieved very kindly. The manuscript of the only book Napoleon has ever written, was closed in the safe, I could not seen it unhappily.
For me the highpoint was entering and seeing the cripte of Marie Waleska in Lowicz. Only a stone for the door had to be removed and I could go in! Never in Europe I have so easily and uncontrolled entered such a special place! No guard, no monitor, nothing. And nothing was removed or dammaged!

Finally I will thank my friend Leen B. H. for driving the car and listening to all the stories I told him and for the many critiques I got !
